The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina – What can we expect from Season II?

Here we are again talking about The Chilling Adventures of
Sabrina. Are you a fan of the show? Did you love it? Are you
craving to know more about the coming season? Well, then you are in
the right place, because I loved it too, and I can't wait for the new
season to come. Meanwhile, I read all the comics available, you can
find here the post where we chat about the main differences
between the show and the comics.
In this post though we're speculating a bit more about what the next
season might bring us, given the revelations of the season finale and
the material given by the comics themselves. This post is going to
contain spoilers about the first season, so if you haven't
watched it yet and you don't want to ruin the surprise, come back
when you've gone through all of it ;) Ready? Let's start!

Does Sabrina have a Twin?
I think this is one of the questions that most of the show lovers are
asking to themselves. Does Sabrina have an evil twin?
The mystery arises as during one of the first episodes of the show,
when Sabrina is having a bath before her dark baptism, she has a
vision of her parents. Following them, she finds an altar with two
infants on it, and uncovering them she sees one of the babies has
goat legs instead of human ones.
Now, this might be a metaphor for Sabrina duality, as a witch and a
human, and the choice that (apparently) she can make. On the other
hand, it could be taken in a much more literal way, and indicating
that Sabrina has a twin sister/brother, hidden somewhere. If this is
the case why have the two babies been separated? Maybe for the same
reason why Zelda took Mrs Blackwood baby girl? Because as first born
girl something wicked might have happened to her? Let's not forget
that when Zelda presents her plan to her sister she says “We can
rise her. We've done it before”, which might possibly mean that
they raised Sabrina of course, but also that they have already hidden
some new born baby long time ago.
And who might this twin be? Might it be a character we know already,
or a new one introduced in the new season?
The comics, for now, mention nothing about a possible twin
brother/sister, so this is all up to the show to uncover, but the 90s
show did actually feature an evil twin of Sabrina, trapped in another
dimension. What do you think? I'd love to know your theories!

Mrs Blackwood Twins
And speaking of twins, what will happen to the baby girl Zelda
decides to hide? Will she actually be able to keep her hidden from
the coven, or will Mr Blackwood find out about her immediately? And
what will be Prudence's reaction towards her little brothers?
Salem finally talking
Will we hear Salem talking in the next coming season? Salem was
definitely talking in the 90s original show, and although I think it
won't be the same prig, comic figure, it would be very nice hearing
him talk. We heard him talking briefly, when he introduces himself to
Sabrina, and during the last episode we heard Madam Satan's familiar
talk, so we know it is not impossible.
Also, the comic dedicate a whole chapter to Salem and his back story,
telling us how he used to be a boy, who was transmuted into a cat for
having betrayed a witch. In the comic Salem has another
responsibility, given to him as an order by the Dark Lord himself,
which is the one to protect Sabrina from mortal danger.

What Happened to Sabrina's Parents?
As we said in the previous post (find it here), one of the
main differences between the show and the comics is that the last
ones display almost straight away what happened to Sabrina's parents,
while in the show that is still a mystery. In the comic Sabrina's
mother is alive, kept in a mental hospital after a spell Edward puts
on her, to prevent his wife to keep on trying to bring Sabrina away
from the Coven. And as for Edward himself, well (warning – this is
big spoiler!) he was killed and trapped in a tree from his
sisters, Hilda and Zelda, as a punishment for having lied to the
coven.
In the comics though Edward comes back to life, according to Madam
Satan's plan of vengeance, and hides into Harvey's body. In the show
we see Diana, Sabrina's mother, in the Limbo, when Sabrina tries to
retrieve Tommy's soul, so there is a possibility that Diana is
actually dead. But might it be just her soul being trapped in the
Limbo, while her body is kept somewhere else? And what about Edward?
The show doesn't say anything about this character yet, so there is
so much on which the producers might work!

Madam Satan's true Intentions
During the last episode of the first season we finally found out
about Madam Satan true intentions. She is acting as she is because
she wants a crown and a place on the throne next to the Dark Lord.
But is it really all of it? Such a powerful, magnetic, impressive
character, moved by such a mere reason?
In the comic Madam Satan is not Lilith, but she actually is a witch,
Iona, who used to be Edward's girlfriend before he met Diana. She
used to be madly in love with him, and when he told her he wanted to
marry Diana, out of despair Iona jumps into a cage of lions and let
them devour her.
Now that she is back though she seeks revenge, and it's because of
her plotting that Edward comes back to life in Harvey's body. Might
that be an idea that the show producers might take in consideration?
Riverdale Cross Over
Last but not least, possibly what all the fans of the show have been
asking out loud: a cross over with Riverdale! Will it be possible?
Well, it surely is, but it is up to the producers to decide whether
to do it or not.
In the comics the two series are well linked together. The Weird
Sisters don't exist in the comic universe, but Betty and Veronica
from Riverdale play that part basically. It is them who
mistakenly free Madam Satan, and it is with their help that Sabrina
and Madam Satan bring Edward (or better, what Sabrina thinks is
Harvey) back to life.
Sabrina also appears in Riverdale comics, but I haven't read them
yet.
It looks like according to the show producers a cross over is not
quite possible (yet) because they don't want the Riverdale universe
to be filled with supernatural. We have to say though, that the
season III finale actually did display some supernatural elements, so
… can we have hopes for the future?
Now... as you might know, Netflix is giving us a lovely Christmas present, releasing on the 14th of December a Sabrina's special, which I am just so curious to watch! We will talk about the Spellman very soon again...
And that's all I wanted to say, now it's up to you! Do you have more
theories? What do you think of the questions raised above? Can't wait
to hear all you have to say, I'll wait for your speculations and will
talk to you soon, for now take care
M.
